In side-by-side upgrade from 2000 to 2008 , I need help with linked servers. How to migrate them and where to get info ?
Thanks

Maybe this can get you started:
-- Overzicht Linked Servers SQL7.0 en SQL2000
-- SELECT srvid, srvstatus, srvname, srvproduct, providername, datasource, location, providerstring, schemadate, topologyx, topologyy, catalog, srvcollation, connecttimeout, querytimeout, srvnetname, isremote, rpc, pub, sub, dist, dpub, rpcout, dataaccess, collationcompatible, system, useremotecollation, lazyschemavalidation, collation
-- SELECT srvid, sid, xstatus, xdate1, xdate2, name, password, dbid, language, isrpcinmap, ishqoutmap, selfoutmap
set nocount on
print 'Linked Servers for [' + @@Servername + ']'
print '------------------- ***********'
if not exists (select 1 from master.dbo.sysservers where srvid > 0)
begin
print 'No linked servers.'
end
else
begin
select *
from master.dbo.sysservers
where exists (select 1 from master.dbo.sysservers where srvid > 0)
order by srvid
print 'Linked Server UserSettings for [' + @@Servername + ']'
print '------------------------------- ***********'
select S.srvname, L.xdate1, L.xdate2, L.name, L.dbid, L.language, L.isrpcinmap, L.ishqoutmap, L.selfoutmap
FROM master.dbo.sysxlogins L
inner join master.dbo.sysservers S
on L.srvid = S.srvid
and S.srvname <> @@servername
order by S.srvid
end
