I have a SQL 7.0 server that has a linked server to a recently upgraded SQL 2000 server. Before the upgrade, the stored procedures referencing the linked server worked great. Recently we have been experiencing sporatic problems. When trying to execute these stored procedures, we get 'access denied'. The problem is that this does not happen all the time.
I am thinking that it may be a problem with the versions of MDAC installed on each of the machines.
We are going to upgrade the 7.0 server in the very near future but I would like to know why this is happening.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
John

Just the same problem... The only difference is that I upgraded from 32bit MS SQL2000 to 64bit version...
