I have set up two SQL 2000 servers A and B.
They are both in the same network.
IP A : 10.5.85.129
IP B : 10.5.85.65
Both their security mode is Mixed and both have an 'sa' user with a blank password.
I add linked server B to server A setting the security to user 'sa' and vice versa.
However, if I try to run a query in query analyzer from server A on server B like 'select * from B.DB.dbo.tbl_test' I get the above error.
When I look on the internet, I always find that my security mode should be mixed but that is the case.
Both servers run W2003.
It seems that I have a security problem somewhere but I can't find what I do wrong.
Urgent help please. Thanks.

Hi Tom
I hope you resolve your problem, but in the meantime you really really should have a password on those sa accounts. The spida and sasser worms - amongst others - exploit that vulnerability.
