Need some help ASAP! Trying to set up a linked server from SQL 2005(64 bit) to SYBASE v.15.0 (32-bit).
I have the ASE drivers installed on the 2005 box, but get errors. Please advise.
Tried both MDASQL and SQLOLEDB as the provider, but no good.
The latest msg I get is:
OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "MySYBASEServer" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified". <-- I DID set a DSN up and tested connection successfully! :w00t: Ran: -- Adding linked server: exec sp_addlinkedserver @server = SYBASESRV' ,
@srvproduct = 'Sybase',
@provider = 'SQLOLEDB',
@datasrc = 'SYBMaster'
-- Adding linked server login:
sp_addlinkedsrvlogin @useself='false ', @rmtsrvname = 'SYBASESRV',
@rmtuser = 'myuser',
@rmtpassword = 'mypassword'
Also tried:
EXEC sp_addlinkedserver
@server = 'SYBASESRV',
@srvproduct='Sybase',
@provider = 'SQLOLEDB' ,
@provstr = 'DRIVER=Sybase ASE OLEDB Provider;SRVR=SYBASESRV;UID=mylogin;PWD=mypassword'
