Linked Server error: OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "wellcom_linked_server" returned message "The transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions.

    Hello,

    thanks a lot for taking time to answer questions.

    I have a job with Linked Server. Today I noticed the job log has the following message in the end of the log:

    OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "wellcom_linked_server" returned message "The transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions.".

    The job is scheduled to run every day at 3:00 am.

    Later, when I run the job again, there are no more messages. 

    These messages occur sometimes. It could be a network problem?

    With it being sporadic, you would think it's not a DTC configuration error as that would normally cause consistent failures.
    Did you check to see if the startup type for Distributed Transaction Coordinator service is set to automatic?
    Did  you check the windows event logs around the time of the failures to see if you can find any related issues/errors?
