I am trying to connect some of the SQL 2000 server to SQL 2005 through Linked server but I am getting error.
I have enabled RPC etc, I tried connecting from SQL 2005 to SQL 2000 vice-versa still I am getting error
Server is not configured for Data Access. (microsoft SQL error , 7411)
I am also getting this error Server is not configured for Data Access. (microsoft SQL error , 7399)

Which direction are you going? Are you creating 2005 as a linked server on 2000? Or vice versa?
I don't think the first one will work. I think you have to go from 2005 to 2000 (with 2000 being the linked server) because SQL 2000 won't recognize 2005 as being a database it can link to, but 2005 will recognize 2000.
Does that make sense?
