we have a web based application using an approle. We have set OLE DB Services = -2 to turn off resource pooling. When we get a large number of connections via the app we begin to see permission denied and various other errors.
Is there a limit to the number of connections when using app roles? If so what is it? Can it be increased? Do we have to use another means of authentication?
Thanks,
Jim

Not aware of a limit on app roles specifically. Two limits you could hit would be max connection pool or max connections to the box. Bill Vaughn had a couple recent articles about pooling in SQL Mag.
