Licensing Options

    We have SQL 7.0 and must upgrade to 2000.  We are licensed per seat, but upgrading will end up costing nearly 25K$ (100 per seat).  Are there other options that may be cheaper, such as per server? 

     

    Any suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated!

    Hi,

     

    You could license SQL Server per processor !  Usually cheaper when a lot of client licenses are involved. Break-even point is about 26 CAL's per Processor license.
