License for SSMS?

    Hello all,

    Do I need a license to install SSMS 2008 R2 on my local workstation? I was under the impression that only the installation of the the engine would cause a licensing charge and that I could run a client-tools-only install and then connect to a licensed network server.

    Can someone clarity?

    The client tools do not require a license.
