Learning SSRS and need help

  • I have not been sent to class yet for SSRS so my co-worker has been given the awesome task of training me. yesterday we did a very simple report and I got the hang of it pretty well however I picked another report to start building in SSRS and it turns out that one is not so easy. we are going from a Crystal environment to SSRS and we are having to take all of the old reports and build them in SSRS. here's the tricky part for us. The report I'm working on has three reports in one. the code runs as a job using 4 different sp's. how can I get the SSRS report to look similar to the one we used in Crystal. I'm sure it's a grouping thing like it was in Crystal but we are not sure how to do it. any suggestions???

And for that particular problem you simply have to use subreports.

  • And if subreports is not what you need/want, we would need a little bit more info.:-D

  • Great!!! thanks for the suggestions. I will check subreporting out and get back if that is not what I need.
