.....Learning...SQL....Please help

  • I would like to learn, but I know that the best way for me to master it,  is to have the software with the book / manual infront of me, and keep practicing.

I can not afford to go to school, time wise and financialy

Is there a book tutorial with CD kind of thing to learn?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • Before you reach for a book tutorial with CD, start with looking for online tutorials. They will give you the rudimentary basics. Once you have the basics, then you will be in a position to go and seek out more advanced readings.

the Google search results for 'SQL Server tutorials' spans only approximately 18 million choices. However, the first 3 pages will give you several good options. Included is http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp which will also provide you links to the w3 world.

Microsoft offers their own tutorials, as well: msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms169620.aspx

  • Try SQLCourse.com.

The advantage is it has an online SQL editor you can try your syntax on that syncs well with the lessons.

  • SQLservercentral.com it self has lot of free ebooks which you can down load from the books section, If you are looking for practice step by step go for Microsoft press MCTS self paced training kit 70-431, it comes with a practice cd and sql server evaluation CD too, its with good real time examples..
