You ask Dev to violate copyright restrictions? Pretty rude if you ask me...
If you want to want to have a sneak peak of books on the subject, I would recommend amazon.com. There are kindle preview of pretty many books. You don't even need to have a kindle, only download the kindle software from Amazon instead.
Some publishers also provide sample chapters of their books.

You can search in google
type search query as "sql server basic filetype:pdf"
you will get lots of SQL server basic ebooks freely available.
I am not sure bout the book mentioned by DEV will be available or not.

For a good overview / starting point for SQL Server Db Admin I would read the material aimed towards getting the 70-432 SQL Maintenance & Admin certification, in particular the self paced training kit.
