You get a lazy writer (and couple other things) per hard NUMA node, not soft. That reference is wrong.Let me see if I can find a better one....
Thanks Gail for pointing this out.
Do you know if the MS Cert Exam is in-correct like the BOL?
i.e. If I see this question on a Certification test should I select the Right wrong answer or the right right answser?

That totally depends if you want to be right, or get the cert, your choice.

mtassin, I believe Bob is quoting BOL in that paragraph.
Yah, it just didn't seem as obvious a quote as it should have I guess... and I didn't read that far into it.

Exactly my point. All MS Certification exams used to be notorious for having enough incorrect "Right" answers to cause you to fail. They usually follow along with the BOL or MS documentation. Your response was a little bit funny, but not really.

This is MCM level material. Planning on writing that soon?

That's a relief... I was planning to go hammer through the MCTS and MCITP stuff... and then once I had those, consider what it would take to do MCM... I keep thinking NUMA is some sort of Oceanographic Research Department of the US government.

No I do not plan on writing any MCM material. Thank you for the response. 😎

NUMA is the National Underwater and Marine Agency. It has nothing to do with SQL Server unless the server room is flooded. :w00t:
Numa was also a king of Rome.

Why do I feel an April Fool's QOTD coming on?
What is NUMA?
1. Former Roman Emporer
2. National Underwater and Marine Agency
3. Something Dirk Pitt works for
4. A multi-processor technology

Nice question Steve. I had to look up NUMA as I was not familar with it. Sadly, the only numa I knew before was the numa numa song/video that was an "internet sensation".

Maybe so, but I have seen it in study materials for MCITP.
