Layout problems

  • Hey,

There seems to be a bug in reporting services: The reports layout doesn't come out well when viewing with a browser - if there's a table on top of a rectangle, or a textbox on top of a chart, etc - they each appear in their own space which of course messes up the whole report. The thing is that when previewing the reports in the report designer they appear well, and also when printing and/or saving to pdf, everythings fine.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi

The problem I think is the browser not support table, rectangle, textbox or chart overlapping!

    I've the problem, too.

What I tried is use rectangle embadded a image as a map and put a image as traffice light on top of rectangle, it's work fine on report designer and browser.

But if you put more, such as 3 rectangle overlap together then it will be mess up and if you move the position of them, it mess up, too.

In SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, the message will tell you rectangle or what's kind of component can't overlap!

If you really want to overlap something, from my experience, the buttom use rectangle is best and embedded image on it, then you can overlap another rectangle or image and so on, but don't overlap more than 2 components, it messes up the whole report.
