Layout issues with multiple charts and tablix's

  • I have a report with 11 tablix's, 4 charts and may be a list or two. To attempt to control page breaks I have two rectangles with each of the report objects contained within. I am expecting two pages, but I am getting three. The first rectangle seems to be doing pretty good. The second rectangle towards the bottom I have a chart to the left and a tablix to the right of the page. The tablix grows longer than the chart but the width is constant. The report renders the tablix to the right of the page. In print layout it appears on its own page.

    Examples attached.

The body plus the margins equals the report width. The chart and tablix are not overlapping and are within the borders of the rectangle and the rectangle is within the body width.

I have for testing purposes made the chart smaller in width and the tablix smaller in width. That had no effect.

I have for testing purposes placed the tablix on the left and the chart on the right, in this scenario the chart is rendered on a page by itself.

I tested another layout and have them in a single column instead of side by side and that works but its not the layout the client wants. But this tells me there is plenty of page height available.

I wish there was something I could examine or analyze to help me understand what made SSRS decide to render the report this way. What condition(s) did SSRS find that made it think the content ran over the page size?

What options do I have to keep the content on the same page?

  • Hi,

Try this, might be it help.

Right Click on Rectangle ->properties-> see weather the option "Keep contents together on a single page, if Possible" is check or not. if not then check it.

    Thanks,

    Neeraj
