Latency storage in Azure SQL managed instance

  • Hi Colleagues,

In the old-fashioned On-Premise SQL Server installations, more than ten constant ms for accessing the data file was a sign of alerting.

However, using the same measure in Azure SQL-managed instances is strange. It is because you see hundreds in the overall latency.

Any recommendation that we can use to help us troubleshoot performance issues?

    Thank you for your ideas,

  • latency that high is bad no matter where you are running it. You may be exceeding the limits of the MI service.

I would be curious to know what your MI specs are and the type of workload. Am planning on implementing it myself.

Have you looked at any of the slowest queries yet for indexing or tuning?
