  Hi I have a requirement to restore a DB from one Server A to another B.

  Server B has no space to host the backup file of 1.3 TB. So I have to do a network restore.

  Problem here is DB has 8 data files. so Do I have to restore the DB with 8 data files? Can I just have 3 or 4.

  Reason I'm asking is I have 900 Gb on one point and 500 GB left on another mount point. I cannot clear or move the existing files on Target Server. I want to have 2- 3 data files in one mount point and 1-2 files in another mount point.
