Responsibilities: The Database Administrator will support Microsoft SQL databases that service Litigation, Finance, HR and other firm business. The Database Analyst will design and support systems integration under the direction of project management, providing technical support for process re-engineering. This individual will program (20%) for firm wide initiatives and the integration of firm systems, and will analyze the firm's technology strategy and propose a database architecture that will best support planned firm objectives. Major responsibilities include: Tuning all databases to ensure that performance is optimal, supporting and troubleshooting all databases as needed, and working closely with Network Analysts, Developers, HR, and Litigation Support to ensure that database requirements are met. In addition, the Database Analyst will document all work product.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. 3-5 years administering in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Familiarity with monitoring and performance tuning tools (such as NetIQ). In depth Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery techniques. Thorough understanding of the use of indexes, stored procedures, I/O statistics, (e.g., to improve execution time of complex joins). Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. EOE
