I tried this but some how its not working for me am I missing something
if possible can you share the screenshots as well.

Sure. SO here is a screen shot of the procedure as a keyboard short cut and a snap shot of the table highlighted, now hit Ctrl + 6 to display or select top 100 *.

I hate to point it out because the OP has done a lot of nice SP work for this and has a GREAT documentation header, albeit some very minor typos.
but you can simply put "SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM " in the shortcut panel and it works just fine 😀

or just right click on the table/view in Object Explorer and click on Select Top 100 Rows
