Just to know which method to use

    Hi Frnds,

    I have a situation where i have two similar schema in two different database on two different server.

    I have been asked to get a reports which queries both these database.

    I am planning to use UNION as the tables are having the same structure on both the database server.

    Should i go for OPENROWSET/OPENDATASOURCE,etc or get it as a linked server.

    Which could be more professional and quick.

    May be someone could help.Its urgent?

    I have always gone the route of a Linked Server since it is easilly documentable and it allows for integrated security to be defined at the link level.
