Good question. Nice to have a question on something as new as this.
Also nice to see we will soon have a civilized alternative in SQL Server to that awful XML.

Easy question as I have read yesterday the article about this topic. at[/url]
And I was surprised to see twice the same topic with the same author.
I am not liking JSON but I am interested by the next SQL Server version.
According this blog , it seems that these both FOR JSON clauses will not be alone in the RTM version.

Finally we got native JSON in SQL Server !
I was waiting for that option a long time.
Thanks for pointing at that for me important option.

Amen to that. JSON isn't as bloated as XML, but I admit I'm curious about performance. I hope the implementation of it is better than the implementation of XML.

Nice question. Good to know the difference in modes for JSON and XML.
This is first QotD touching SQL 2016.
