Looking to fill two positons in west suburbs of Chicago.
#1. Jr. Level programmer familiar with ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, MS SQL Server 2005 and XML Web services. Must be ready to learn and take on the responsibilities quickly.
#2. College Intern to work part time flexible horus as a web content specialist. Preferrably a comp. science or marketing major and familiar with web technologies. This may provide an opportunity to receive a job offer after graduation.
Both of these positions offer a great opportunity at a fantastic company. Personality and "fit" into our group is important. Must be hard working and responsible and eager to prove yourself.

Why would you want a Junior that can take on responsibility quickly? That's like handing a 5 year old the car keys. By their very nature, Juniors aren't ready for it.

You might want to define the 'web content specialist' a little more. That's pretty vague.
Side note: You are aware this is primarily a MS SQL Server Developer/administrator forum, right? You probably won't find much, if any, interest in web development positions here.
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.

To answers your questions/concerns as breifly as possible.
#1. Why hire a jr. level person? Because that is what we want to do. Rest assurred, we have good reason which I feel we do not benefit from in explaining here in this post.
#2. Elaborate on what a 'web content specialist' is. We wish someone to help with the day to day posting of content to our websites.
#3. I am aware this is a Sql server forum. Our programming position is heavy on sql server development so I figure it is related enough to throw it out there to see if anyone has interest or wears different hats. Plus, I saw other posts similiar which made me think that it couldn't hurt. I am putting posts out in various places to see if I cannot find other avenues of finding interested candidates.
In general, I was being brief and if someone is interested I will give them more information.

I think you have good reasons to post your reasons. Most guys here have become really good at filtering out "shaddy" descriptions.
I'm not insinuating you are doing anything illegal or whatnot but hiding details about a job is not going to attract a lot of people (from the feedback we got on a massive thread on that very subject).

Or the responses on a few of my articles. I don't think this is shady though, just odd, it's quite upfront with the desire for the position(s). 4 separate languages for a junior to pick up responsibility quickly is a unique requirement. It'd require someone who has done a lot of book learning but hasn't had the opportunity to apply them yet, but is tired of SQL Server professionally and wants to do something completely different, and will bite the salary bullet to get there. They've obviously got a plan in place for ramp up they feel is satisfactory.
The intern sounds about right.
I also agree that significant details unless he's already got the full posting to make available would be overkill on a 'try and see' site basis. He's obviously doing a birdshot posting run to look for interest, and no one location would be worth the time unless there was significant interest, which this hasn't generated yet.
