Job Status Stuck Performing Completion Actions

  I have a job that is stuck on Performing Completion Actions.

  I have tried to stop the job with sp_stop_job but the current execution status remains 7 (Performing Completion Actions).

  I had this happen once before I know there was some script or extended stored procedure I ran, but I cannot remember what I did. I know shutting down the server and restarting it will resolve this, but there was something that I did that did not require shutting down the server but I cannot remeber what it was.

  If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

  I remember someone saying this has something to do with your mail server going down. Might try:

  xp_stopmail, then xp_startmail.
