Just want to know How is the Job market now for SQL Server 2000 DBA in US. I'm hearing from friends that the Job market is slowing down.
Thanks,

I am in Arizona and there are always openings. However, companies are starting to 'finish' up with SS2000 and move to SS2005 or are even beginning to look at SS2008.
My personal experience/opinion is that if you want to get a job in SS2000, you need to have lots of experience with it. It's been out a long time and there are lots of people with quite a bit of experience that you would be competing against.

How's the job market in your country?

I think right now most SQL job requires you to know SQL Server 2005. Of course most of the job description includes .Net, BI, reporting service, DBA experiences, performance tuning, data modeling, basically everything under the sun.:P

Hmm, I just looked at Job listings in my country and again nothing has changed.
You can get a job only if you are Oracle DBA or Developer 🙁
like SQL Server doesn't exist

There are plenty of job openings in the US. They can be spread around, but lots of people use SQL 2000. Lots more are looking to upgrade since 2000 support ended and they'd like 2005 skills, but there are still jobs here.
