We have SQL2005 standard with SP2 and have created several maintenance jobs (i.e backup) with email notification. In the days of SQL2000, the email notifications came with an text attachment that shows the job log. In SQL2005, the attachment does not seem to be there.
Does anyone know how to send the job log as an text attachment when ever the maintenance job completes?

If you are talking about maintenance plans, there is an option on the last page of the wizard to email the report (though it won't be an attachment, but rather the text of the email itself).
If you are editing a pre-existing maintenance plan, you can double-click it in SSMS to open it in design mode, and across the top of the design window will be a button for reporting and logging, where you can select to email the report (same outcome as above method, no attachment, but email text).
