We have left our job history size at the default of
Max job history log size (rows) 1000
Max job history rows per job 100
which keeps about a month in the job history. We think we may need to increase this for one server to keep a longer history. What settings is anyone else using and does increasing the size have a performance or any other overhead?

I have mine set to 50,000 and 1,000. The default settings are too low for us. I doubt it affects performance much.

We have ours set to 8000 and 400. Haven't seen any performance problems.

I believe it will only increase the size of the sysjobhistory table in the msdb database. Rgds Derek
