Hi
I am backing up database log through a job, however backup job is failing. The status you see on the SQL EM job status is "performing completion actions" (on sysjobs history it shows status 7). Any amount of intervention does not help. I then cannot also start a job because it says job is already running. I know rebooting might help but why should i reboot it is sql 2k sp2.
Any known issues with sql server agent, i'd appreciate feedback or fix.
Thx

Did you check the system application logs on the server? Instead of rebooting can't you just kill that process?

If you kill the process, then check the status witl kill spid with WITH STATUSONLY
to see it's rollback process. If it says 100 % complete and it is still rollbacking, then you will have to restart your server.

Even if you kill the spid it does not help, shows 100% completed and rollback in progress, this goes on in a never ending loop.
From what i still think is that this is a sql agent issue, it is with this particular SQL 2k sp2. Not getting anything with the rest of the jobs that have no notification.
