Hi. Does any one have any suggestions on how I may be notified via email (Example: Mail Session/Operators/xpsmtp) when a SQL Job has failed?
I know about the options available for SQL 6.0 & 7.0 but has any one tried them on SQL 8.0 on MS Win Server 2003?
Thanks,
MG

They are the same. Setup SQL Mail and mark the job to notify you when it fails. You set your email up as an operator.

since i don't want outlook or a mapi client installed on my sql box, on all my jobs i create an extra step at the end which basically does a command line smtp mail. then i set all my jobs when failed to go to this last step. works great. a lot of initial setup and it works well b/c i'm the only one notified.
