Issue while creating Cube Partition-SSAS2005, on Cube DB that is migrated from MSAS2000

    Hi,

    I migrated a cube on AS2000 to SSAS2005, there are around 500 partitions already existing.

    I am getting the following error whenever a new partition(additional) is created on the migrated cube.

    TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server

    Can anyone help me on how to fix this issue??

    A google search on the error string you present doesn't return much on your specific topic. I broke the error down and searched and found some references that didn't exactly match your issue but did offer (maybe) some help. A couple of the threads I read pointed to a bug in earlier versions of SQL 2005 that caused an issue like the one you describe. The fix was to make certain you have all SP's and patches current on the server and client tools.

    I don't know if this will correct your issue but it can't hurt. Maybe a few of the more seasoned SQL veterans will have a more complete answer.
