  Basically what I have is this. I have a matric year/term for example may 2006. All students have a gpa associated with their matric date, what i need to do , is display their matric date, AND what their gpa was 1 year AFTER their matric date. Is this possible? What commands would i look at using? Assuming the 1 year time frame is 12 months.

  The short answer is yes, it is possible.  Look at DATEADD in BOL.  Post some DDL so we can better understand what you're working with.
