is there a DBCC CheckDB equivalent for AS Cubes?

  i'm more of a regular database guy, and don't know all the inner workings

  of other services but wondering if there is a similar function in Analysis Services

  for Cube consistency as there is for the SQL engine.

  No - and it doesn't look like the functionality made it into SQL Server 2008 either. It is on the to-do list for the AS team.
