Is the SQL Server 2008 software comes along with SP1?

  • Hi,

I trying to download SQL Server 2008 software and I can see that SQL Server 2008 & SP1 together. So is that mean when I install the setup, after the SQL server installation, SP1 also get installed?

  • Yes

This looks interesting (SQL 2008 with SP1 included) , I have not downloaded SQL Server 2008 recently (I have been working on Developer Edition that I own), can you provide the link where are you downloading it from? (If this is a valid downloadable copy).

BTW, you can check if SP1 is installed as soon as your installation is completed, by running

    SELECT @@VERSION

  • This is interesting. I know you can (and I have had to) Slipstream the SQL 2008 RTM and SP1 media so the installs are done as one, but I've never heard of being able to download what sounds like a Slipstream media set.

    Where are you getting this?

Nothing in life is ever so complicated that with a little work it can't be made more complicated.

  • Microsoft has done this from time to time.

I have recently downloaded from msdn different versions of SQL server that have been slipstreamed. Not sure if this is where the OP got the media, though.
