IS Shrink part of Full Backup by default or as an option

  • Prolly not...when I look at the General Tab of properties of the DB I see 119.74Mb of Space Available

The individual ndf files have restricted growth to 102400 Mb and most of these are within an Mb of that. So it looks like it's got it's 10% of freespace left, although my math is pretty bad so I can't say that with confidence 🙂

  • In that case shrinking to 10% free is not going to do anything.

  • I ran the shrink today on my gynormous SharePOint content database and it completed in about 4 minnutes. woot.

If I wanted to suspend the shrink operation that I initiated via the dbcc shrinkdatabase command, is there another command to submit in order to do this?
