Hello all,
My company is thinking that upgrading from 2000 to 2005 looks like a great deal. but we are hung up on deciding if we need Enterprise Edition. (We run 2000 Standard). We've read a bunch of posts from Microsoft and even went to the Seattle launch presentation yesterday, but we still aren't sure if Peer to Peer replication is only available in Enterprise (at $25,000 a pop) or whether we could do it with Standard.
Does anyone know about this?
Thanks,
Elliott

The following link lists the features for each edtion. peer to peer replication is an option for transactional repl. So based on the link, it's supported by standard edtion.

Thanks for your reply. We have been scrutinizing the same comparison of features and trying to determine what it means. Nowhere in the Microsoft info do they specifically talk about Peer-To-Peer replication, just Transactional Replication.
So far we haven't found anyone who has personal knowledge that it Peer-To-Peer can be set up in Standard Edition.

Look in the SQL 2005 Books on Line topic "Features Supported By the Editions of SQL Server 2005" and near the bottom you'll see that Peer-to-Peer is only available for the Enterprise Edition. That's the only place I found it.

Thanks, Linda. I'm loading my demo copy right now, then I'll look it up in BOL.

So, every node particpating in peer-to-peer requires a SQL Enterprise License?
