Experts,
We have some cubes which are allready deployed. But we don't have sln project files.
Now we need to make some modifications to these cubes. Is it possible to modify the deployed cubes without having sln ? Can anyone guide me on this pls. Bit urgent.
I did some googling but couldn't get any help on this.
Thanks in advance.

I opened BIDS.
File ==> Open ==> Analysis Service Database.
Selected the database I wanted.
Think I can edit the cube. Did I do it right ?
Is there any other way to do the same.
Thanks,
Smith.

This was the first link on Google for "extract SSAS database"

I did that and everything got imported and new solution is created.
I am facing another problwm now, when I open CUBE I get the following error.
"The DDS Layout contains an invalid control progid. The layout will be generated."
I am not able to browse the cube as well.
Any idea how to resolve this error. ?
Thanks,
Smith.

I have question opposite to this situation .....
like i want to secure my deployed cube ..... i the case above anyone can open my cube deployed on the server and can easily modify / temper it and re deploy to the same server .....
In this case i just want to know what if i don't want anyone to open / modify my deployed cude .... like i just want it for the sake of cube proprietorship
