is it possible to disable the SSRS subscription when SQL Agent job fails

  • Hi Folks,

My question is it possible to disable the SSRS subscription when SQL Agent job fails.

    Scenario:

i have created 4 subscription in SSRS and scheduled to run daily morning @6AM . i have created the SQL Agent job also callde BI_AR it executes the SSIS package and populate the tables relevant to the subscription. suppose today this BI_AR job failed means no record will populate in the tables for today. but as per the schedule time the subscription will enable and send the mail to the concern users along with the wrong data . so for this reason i need to stop running the subscription.

if anybody knows kindly send me the steps how to impelement this logic to disable the subscription.

Can anybody help me on this requirement. its very urgent for me .

    Regards,

    Sabarinathan

  • How about implementing a data-driven subscription then?

If I understand your question right, you'll just have to use an appropriate query in Step 3 and then use its field as you need while creating a subscription.

    Hope it helps
