Is it possible input anything by user.........

  • Hi

Actually we have have one report which shows orders now we need to input promotion code on that report. So my question is :- Is it possible to enter that code by client.

    Regards

  • Do you mean to say you must be able to enter Promotion code against each order in your report? I don't think its possible. Reporting only supports read only display of data based on criteria. I am not sure if I understood your question correctly.

  • Hi Prasad

Yah that is what i am trying to do..........

It is possible to do with VB form. Actually reporting services is totally new for me so not sure how to do this.

At present i am using SSRS 2000 and VB.Net 2003.

Is it possible to deploy VB Form on report manager?

    Thanks

  • If I understand your question right (from Prasad's description), can you input the data after the report hass been produced? Or in other words, if non-PDF format is acceptible, why can't you just provide the report in something like Excel format, and then let the clients play with the Excel?

  • Yes, this is appropriate solution for your requirement, to set your report render format to EXCEL and render the report in excel and that way the user can manipulate as per his requirements.

  • Thanks for reply. At present i am working like but i need to store all promotion code in a table so that product manager can see this later also by selecting date, because deal can be changed by supplier randomly. Other problem is every product manager enter deal code on different time scale means some enter weekly some daily and some monthly in that case for me it's very difficult to make record. That's why i was thinking if i can provide them user front-end where they can enter text and if i am able to store this in a table by backend (SQL or Access) then it will easy & accurate method. Every product manager enters this promo code against order no.I am not sure that is it possible to do or not but i am writing here for opinion.....

    Any other suggestions please.......

  • Is there any other way to do this thing

    Regards
