is it neccessry to restart server after SQL server 2008 sp1 installation

    Hi all

    I have installed or upgrated SP1 on sql server 2008,now checked summery report there is no problem found in it;so only confirm me is it neccessry to restart server after SQL server 2008 sp1 installation

    If a restart was required the service pack would have requested one at the end of the install.

    That is correct. It will request a restart if required. I always like to restart after applying any SP or Hotfixes to start fresh.
