  How many IP address you need.....for 2 node active/passive cluster environment.

  Here is my breakdown.

  1 - Virtual IP address

  1 - Virtual Network name

  1 - Public Network

  1 - Private Network

  1 - MSDTC

  So, I have 5 total IPs.......is this correct?

  For a 2 node cluster you will typically need the following IPs

  Node1 2 x IPs (1 public and 1 heartbeat)

  Node2 2 x IPs (1 public and 1 heartbeat)

  MSDTC 1 x IP

  Windows Cluster 1 x IP

  SQL Server virtual network name 1 x IP for each instance installed

  So with 1 instance installed that's 7 IP addresses and then + 1 for each further instance you install.
