Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on a peculiar situation we are having with some of our DTS packages after powering down our servers ( for a scheduled power outtage ) and restarting them.
Specifically, an ActiveX transformation step in the DTS package takes input from a text file and manipulates the input date into the format required [dd/mm/yy] (in the file it's ddmmyy). Since the restart this step is failing as the date is now inverted [mmddyy] even though the input file is exactly the same ( & the ActiveX task has not been modified ) !?!?.
Does anyone have any idea why this is occuring ?.
The power down & restart both seemed to be ok.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

All,
Ok, we've traced the problem to the fact that the servers system date format changed when it was shutdown & restarted, i.e was 'dd/mm/yy' prior to shutdown and 'mm/dd/yy' after the restart. Everyone swears that no-one modified this setting manually, so i guess we chalk this one upto big Bill G & Microsoft undocumented features !!!!
Regards.
