Jeff Moden - Monday, May 14, 2018 8:50 PM...And, no... I'm not looking for a perfect avatar. To be honest, I'm not looking for an avatar at all. A well written FAQ page on a website would do just fine on the employer side. I just don't see the need to waste clock cycles on giving life to the offspring of Max Headroom.
What really burns CPU is the automated facial and speech recognition software that DevOps creates as an interface between two avatars.

I think a "Steve" avatar would be great! When people come to the site / forum for answers to questions they can start with "Steve" and ask their questions. Since "Steve" has the full access to everything previously posted, and real data it would be highly likely to provide accurate information.
Think about it. It would reduce the amount of repetitive queries. But also provide real help to those in need, without having to search for the right answer.
PS: I want to work on that team.

Heh... I'd just like them to get the code windows back up to snuff where you can copy'n'paste directly from SSMS like you used to be able to. :crying:

Lay folk (non-techies) are impressed by Avatars, because they look more human. They can do things like provide context sensitive winks and smiles, so they're perhaps assumed to possess more intelligence than MS Clippy or the automated chat bots encountered on customer support websites for the past decade.
The distinction seems blurred. What's new here?
