Hi,
I need to install s2k5 on a non-internet machine, but in the README there is a heading for "internet requirements", which implies an internet connection is required. Is this correct?
thanks...

An internet connection is not necessary.
There is a gotcha regarding SQL Server 2005 SP1 and Integration Services. SSIS will not start because it is trying to reach crl.microsoft.com to check its certificates (or something). That's simple to fix by editing a registry entry. Shouldn't be an issue for you because by now you will be installing SP2 🙂
Management Studio may take a little while to start up. One of the reasons is (again) it tries to reach crl.microsoft.com. It waits for it to timeout before continuing. I have seen a couple of ways to work around this, with mixed results. Not sure if it has been fixed in one of the cumulative updates, haven't seen anything.
