instance limit of SQL editions

  Hello. I've tried googling, but can't find any solid information regarding how many instances of given SQL edition (enterprise, standard, web, express) can be installed/running on a server?

  The only information I've found was that SQL 2005 (?) Enterprise allowed max. 50 instances.

  Does anyone have more info on this? Or a link.
