I have SSMS version 10.50.1617.0 (MSFT SQLServer 2008 R2) on my workstation. I want to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express with Tools.
Are there any concerns (especially w/SQL Server Management Studio Express) with the install? Can these coexist without issue?
Would I be better off installing SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (Runtime Only)?
Any comments/URLs would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you already have Management Studio installed on your machine then I would think the issue of co-existence is moot.
I would just install another instance (just the database engine, express or otherwise) and connect to and manage it with your currently installed tools.
