I have a XP Pro client machine with SQL server connectivity tools installed. When I install SQL SP3 I receive the error "This Service Pack is meant for a different language than your installed product".
Installed fine on all but 3 machines in office. All 3 are XP Pro OS.
Any Ideas??

Are you sure that the same version of SQL is on each? And the same version of XP? It sounds like either the SQL version, XP version, or SP is a different language. I'd download again to be sure.

Exactly the same happens to me, I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 in spanish, SQLServer Personal 2000 in english, and I cant update the sqlserver. I have downloaded already again the english SP.

Here's a work around to try:
1. When installing SQL for the first time instead of selecting "Connectivity Only" Select the "Client Tools Only" option.
2. Next, uncheck everything except "Client Connectivity". This will install the same components as the "Connectivity Only" option on the previous screen.
3. You should now be able to apply the service pack with out any difficulty.
Hope that resolves the issue for you...

Hi All
I have found out how to fix this issue. I hope I can remember the details.
In Control Panel - Regional and Language Options
Select Regional Options
In my case, I had to make sure that the Location drop list was set to Australia as well as the Language drop list under the Advanced Tab.
