Hello Friends.
Is there any recommendation on installing Sql Server 2008 on a VMware.
For example
1. Will it be good to have Log files on Raid 1, Data files on Raid 10, temp Db on raid 1.
2. Is there any benefit in creating logical drives in VMware(Ex: C:\, D:\, E:\) and creating datafiles on these drives in case of a VMware install.
Thanks

We have several SQL Server 2005 installations using VMWare. We aren't experiencing high-cpu problems, but these also aren't high-volume usage applications. For what its worth, we have created logical drives for data, logs, and backups. I don't know if there is any real benefit to this or not.
The plan is to upgrade to 2008 - just haven't gotten there yet.
