Installing SQL server 2000 STD Edition

  I am setting up SQL server 2000 STD Edition and would like to set the temp database on a seperate partition disk for performance issues.

   

  When I install the application it lets me define where the user db's are set but groups master & temp etc in the same partition. It is possible to split them onto different partitions.

  Yes. You can move tempdb after the installation. This Microsoft KB article gives instructions on how to move all databases, system ones included:
