Installing SQL Server 2000

  • hi,

I installed SQL Server 2000 on my computer. The installation is sucessfull but I am not able to open the Enterprise manager. That is when I click on the enterprise manager in the start->programs-> SQl server menu Its not comming up.How ever I can get the Query analyser.I tried to do it many times but its the same thing again and again.can any one help me with this one.

The Operating system is Windows 2000 server

    Thank You

  • try searching for isqlw.exe. In the same folder where this is installed, you will find enterprise manager. You can then create shortcuts or add them to your program list.

  • I did not find the isqlw.exe.

The Enterprise manager was installed in the C:/winnt/system32

    can you please help me

  • uninstall and reinstall making sure that if you only want to install client tools, you make sure that ent man is selected. If you are installing the full server and client tools, still make sure that you are installing this.

  • Are you getting an error or is it just not lauching?

  • Enterprise Manager uses mmc.exe (Microsoft Management Console) which is at C:\WinNT\System32 for a default install. You'll find Enterprise Manager's .msc at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\SQL Server Enterprise Manager.msc in a default install. Query Analyzer (isqlw.exe) is also in the :\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn directory as well.

If you don't find these files, you will want to reinstall the client tools as cjlane suggests.
