I am trying to install a downloaded copy of sql 2000 evaluation Ent edition, at home. My sys at home is running w2k. I get a "general network error" during the install
I have attached part of the sqlstp.log from the install...
Starting Service ...

driver={sql server};server=cn524087-a;UID=sa;PWD=;database=master

SQL Server configuration failed.
I can install client and connectivity tools separetly but as soon as I try to do the server the errors pop up.
I checked the microsofts knowledge base they said that this did not mean a network error but that sql could not register the server?????
Any ideas anyone
Thanks in advance

Something happened during install. This usually means the server is not running (that you are trying to connect to). Is it running? If so, then can you uninstall and try it again?
