Ok, total newbie question here
I have SQL 2000 on disk, which I received from GoldMine as a part of their Front Office 2002 solution.
The program seems unable to install to a Win2k Professional box. I have also heard that you can't install it to any box that has an AMD processor.
Am I just a confused user or do I actually Win2k Server running on Intel to install this thing?

What version of SQL Server 2000 are you trying to install? It may be the version is incompatible with Win2K Pro. Since we're dealing with Win2K, I'll leave out the NT 4 ones.
Developer and Personal Editions are the only two which will go on a Win2K Pro system. Server requires Win2K Server or above. Enterprise requires Win2K Advanced Server or above.

Yep - that is it.
This is Server edition.
Such a deal!
Is it also true that the thing won't work with an AMD processor?

I've not heard of such a thing, but then again, I don't keep up much on the AMD side.
